introduce you Peiting, so that you can imagine what you could expect,
if you will decide for Peiting.
Welcome in Peiting

where during a foehnwind the mountains seem close enough to touch, where
the Romans once settled - where today you will find a place to relax:

village-like charm although its population has swelled to over 12.000
inhabitants. This charm invites you to get to know the people, nature

rather enjoy the company of friendly people........

unique location encourages you to explore the fairytale-like scenery yourself.
Follow in the footsteps of King Ludwig II or hike along the Lech-Höhenweg
and you will sense that paradise is near. The well maintained streets
and paths lead cyclist on unforgettable tours far away from daily stress
and autobahns. Relaxation and peace of mind will sweep over you like a
breeze, and you will be filled with new energy.
Living culture
The village-like charm is everywhere in Peiting. This is largely due to
the many traditions that are still upheld today allowing you to experience
the old way of life. It´s the Peitinger themselves that bring the
romantic appearance of the town to life through numerous activities, festivals
and events like the Farmers´market, which takes place once a month
and features produce and goods from the local farmers, or the "Gumpen-Serenade"
where local musical groups present their talents. You can also find craftsmen
in traditional occupations that aren´t practiced in many places
anymore, or explore the "Klösterle-Museum" with its interesting
and varied exhibits. Experience it yourself!
Surrounded by art beauty
In the last millenium monks and nuns, the "Pfaffen", settled
in this "schönen Winkel" (beautiful corner) giving the
area its name "Pfaffenwinkel", and Peiting is located in the
heart of it. Mountains, sky, lakes, meadows, forests and friendly people-
it´s almost heaven.
The pride of Pfaffenwinkel is the world famous Wieskirche ("church
in the meadow") right outside of Peiting. Dominikus Zimmermann built
this architectural jewel from 1745-1754. Zimmermann´s family came
from Birkland in Peiting where he built one of his first architectural
works of art with the St.Anna church. Come feel what makes Pfaffenwinkel
so special, and you will understand why the Pfaffen chose to make it their
home. Come enjoy some of the almost 2000 hours of sunshine a year and
the foehnwind, the warm wind stream from Upper-Italy, and you will know
what makes Peiting in Pfaffenwinkel so unique.
To tell you about all the oportunities in and around Peiting would take
too much space.
